Coasters
This week I’ve been working on a *ton* of new coasters.
Coasters Label
Also been working on new labels for said coasters. I’d love to get a custom Liesl Made stamp with my little birds logo on it, but for now, I’ll hand stamp each letter with my Inkadinkado set.
Tiny Print
And I’m debating what to do with these tiny prints I got. Put them in tiny picture frames? Turn them into magnets?

My Creative Space Thursday.
I think my best creative energy comes in the evening and night (like when I’m trying to sleep but can’t because my head is swirling with ideas so I scribble them onto paper on my nightstand, in the dark–ooh, that’s always fun to decipher in the morning.) When does it hit you?
I wish I had time to visit blogs but I am so super busy. I swung into my Google Reader to grab the link for Kirsty’s and was met with 165 unread entries! Things aren’t working with the links, but that’s no reason to not play along this week. Or next week. Or the week after. It’s fun.

My Creative Space

Happy Creative Space Thursday!

I can’t believe it’s been a week already. The week before last I showed you the mayhem on my long table—which my father built leg raisers for so my six-foot frame doesn’t have to stoop to work on projects. That table is only half of where the magic happens. This week, I introduce you to my desk. And the bookshelf shelf that is next to it.
Desk
I like a simple, clean work space. So it’s a constant process of creativity causing clutter, then me clearing it. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Due to limited space, I only have one desk, so I also have my laptop there. I push it to the side when I sew, simply providing me music while I work (and the occasional email check.) Ideally I’d love to have two desks, one for sewing and one for computing so I can avoid all tempting distraction while I’m working. But for now, this set-up works just dandy.
Shelf
The shelf is where I keep pens and floss and thread and bobbins and other little tidbits—like feathers and pinecones and sweet gum tree balls. I like how it is set to the side and frees up space to work. In the photo you can see my favorite very-vintage box which holds some of my embroidery floss. (I’m pretty sure it was my great grandmothers, though that may just be something I dreamed up as a child.)
Shelf Detail

I also want to announce that Jaime of The Dress-up Drawer Blog is hosting a *ton* of giveaways from August 17th to the 24th. Swing by there to win one of my makeup bags—in Valori Wells’ Purple Flower Stripe print!

And don’t forget, if you haven’t already, to enter in the pot holder giveaway here on my blog. It ends tomorrow.

Thank you all so much for the banner opinions! As you can see, I decided to go with the first one and change my shop button in the right column to the middle photo in the second banner. (That’s a mouthful!)
Mayhem.
The change is just in time too, because I feel like I’m getting my stride again with sewing. I have to admit for a while there, the above mayhem was absent. But now I’m eagerly working on a handful of terrific kitchen accessories made out of linens and Alexander Henry’s Granville line. (Sneak peeks in the photo!) Whether or not they all make it into the shop is yet to be determined. I’ve been in a gift giving mood lately. And I’m participating in and planning a few of my own great giveaways over the next few months, so stay tuned.
I Love Moo.
In other news, I also got my first set of Moo cards on Friday and simply fell in love. The word that pops to mind is *charming.* I chose to put my website on the back with a little “Thanks” bubble and I’m going to include them in future orders.

My Creative Space.

I’ve been seeing this project all over the blogosphere and I finally decided to participate this fine Thursday.
My Creative Space
Today in “My Creative Space” I’m finishing up five new zip pouches and two PJ pants. The former for the shop and the latter for moi.
On Monday I picked up Alicia Paulson’s “Stitched in Time” from my local library. It’s got a lot of cute projects I’m itching to try. (Why aren’t there more hours in the day?) I’m thinking the Peppermint-Heart Garland would be a great gift for a one year old girl. Luckily I have until September.
I also have to get around to a self-portrait today seeing as it’s also Self Portrait Thursday.
And a heads up that Fabric.com is having a Designer Cotton Print Blowout. 50% off! Yeah, I just emptied my Paypal account there…
Happy Thursday to you all!
