Dear Reader,
Happy Monday to you. Hope you had a lovely weekend.

I spent Friday in the kitchen again, this time making Broccoli Mac Daddy from the Veganomicon. It’s comfort food season—warm hearty meals are the best.

I also made the Almond Butter Thumbprint Cookies mentioned on Friday. They are quite yummy. My brother *loves* them so they wont last long in this house. While I was watching TV last night, he whispered into the living room, “I can’t stop eating these cookies!”
The rest of my weekend was spent reading and napping. Life with Lyme disease is proving interesting. One good thing is that it’s teaching me how to prioritize better. I have to use my energy wisely so I get done the things I need to get done first. Then it’s time for play.
That play has included finishing a couple gifts for some little boys and starting a thank you present and a custom order. More details coming soon.
And there is a giveaway coming tomorrow. So do check back!
Love,
Liesl
(PS: I don’t know why I did this is letter format?)

Good Evening, everyone. : )
After the consistency of posting in July (thanks in part to Color Week) my blog seems oddly quiet lately. I suppose its making me uncomfortable because I have the urge to post something.

Well, here goes: Today is Monday, so that means it’s Bench Monday.
It was a glorious August day here today. It was a bit warm for my taste but a major upgrade over yesterday’s steady rain, dark clouds and thunders.

I got in a nap this afternoon–there is nothing a good nap won’t cure. Then ate a delish dinner of homemade zucchini pancakes, beets and Jersey peaches.

I’ve managed to get photos of the first bunch of make up bags completed over the weekend. They’ll be in the shop soon. And I made progress on the second bunch. Two are a new style, quilted with cotton batting instead of stabilized with synthetic interfacing–for folks who don’t like the poly/nylon interfacing. So for these, the zippers are the only poly material in construction. Hmm, cotton zippers? Are they available?
Once some batting arrives, I can finish up some projects I’m thinking of giving away here on the blog or the Liesl Made Facebook Page. (Or both!)
Many of the items currently in the shop will be going on sale to make room for new stuff coming throughout the month of August.
Now, I’m going to go for a walk, do some seam ripping, eat more peaches and cherries and dive back into a book before bed.
So, that’s the goings on in the Liesl Made World. How was your Monday? Have big plans for the week?
