I’ll Never Need Interfacing as Long as I Live.

Or theoretically, for the next five or so years, seeing as it took me three years to get through the last bolt. I guess it was kismet that about a week after I mentioned my interfacing dilemma, an eBay email search sent me a listing for one and half-ish bolts of the exact type I use for a decent price. I love it because it’s 44” wide, sturdy and doesn’t warp at higher temps like most other interfacings I’ve used.
The first project is another set of the aforementioned placemats, this time for my Grandma.

A few years back, I bought a whole bolt of heavy weight interfacing via eBay for way-cheap. It’s definitely come in handy and I love the crisp, cleanness it offers in my finished projects. My bolt is now running low and I am at a cross roads: Do I buy another bolt and keep the convenience and familiarity of polyester fusible interfacing or do I go the all-natural way with materials such as duck cloth or canvas?

Anyone have experiences of working with natural stabilizers? Or helpful techniques to share? Do you have a preference for one or the other? I’d love to hear opinions. I’m stumped. It seems easier to stick with the fusible…
