Blog Banner Opinions Wanted.

Happy Monday everyone!
Now that Color Week is over, I guess I should get back to the crafty stuff. The trouble is that I don’t have any crafty stuff to share right now. I’m working on a big pile of makeup bags for the shop. (And I do mean big.) As well as some mighty cute bags holders.
Broken
But the main thing I’ve been busy on is the baby quilt. I’ve been so enthralled in stitching that I actually broke my lucky needle. That’s a first: breaking a needle when hand quilting! I’m really pleased with the way it’s coming along and am enjoying the process—there is something almost meditative about sewing in spirals. I’m glad I went with the choice to hand quilt.

But right now I need your help: I’ve decided it’s time to change up the blog a bit with a new top banner. But the trouble is I’m a terribly indecisive person. I’ve narrowed it down to a few but need your opinion on which is the best? (If I choose the first, I’ll change my shop button to the right.)

Interfacing

Interfacing
A few years back, I bought a whole bolt of heavy weight interfacing via eBay for way-cheap. It’s definitely come in handy and I love the crisp, cleanness it offers in my finished projects. My bolt is now running low and I am at a cross roads: Do I buy another bolt and keep the convenience and familiarity of polyester fusible interfacing or do I go the all-natural way with materials such as duck cloth or canvas?

Anyone have experiences of working with natural stabilizers? Or helpful techniques to share? Do you have a preference for one or the other? I’d love to hear opinions. I’m stumped. It seems easier to stick with the fusible…

(And Lily is doing well.)

*something*

Life kind of threw me a curve ball, now I’m stuck in a bit of a funk. I’ve been wanting to visit some blogs and peruse flickr and indiepublic, but I just don’t have the time. I haven’t even opened my Google Reader in days. God knows how many items have built up by now.

I’m currently designing some hang tags and thank you cards. A while back I came up with this little description/mission statement…

Liesl Made is a one woman *something* specializing in original and vintage inspired bags, clothing, quilts and more all made with all natural, organic or re-purposed fabrics.

I’m completely stumped by that *something*. I’ve managed to narrow Liesl Made down to a sentence, but I can’t seem to narrow it down to a word. I’ve enlisted the brains and cleverness of my family but we come up with a lot of options but nothing that just clicks.

I could easily say business but I don’t want to formalize it that much. And then there is this urge in me to say “Liesl Made is a one woman army” –inspired in part by Ani DiFranco’s lyric (I always wanted to be commander-in-chief of my one-woman army) but I think that’s a bit too aggressive for my taste. So I am looking for something in between the two–professional and personal.

Any opinions?

Coasters

Coasters
I made these coasters a few months ago. Decoupaged sewing patterns on top, felt bottoms. The only problem is, especially with something hot, they stick to the cup when you pick them up.
Coastered Mug. Or a Mugged Coaster.
It’s awfully inconvenient for an item which is meant to be helpful. I have no idea on how I could make them not so sticky. Or if that’s even possible. Any suggestions?

If all else fails, maybe I can slap the square ones together and make a box or something…or a hat… or… I don’t know…
