In other news, I have a bit of a confession and a little venting to do.
First of all, I kinda sorta faltered on my fabric diet. I’ve had an idea for a special for-me project for a while now. And while I was roaming fabric.com (something I should really stop doing), I came across the perfect prints from Kaffe Fassett and was so worried they would sell out. So I ordered. I have no idea how I’m ever going to find the time to fit this project in though!
This is accentuated by the fact that my sewing machine is in the shop. It’s going to take two weeks and cost a whopping $75 to have it cleaned! But I have to do it because, a.) I’ve never had it serviced in the past six or so years I’ve had it (and I think we both know I use it a lot!) and b.) it squeaks something fierce. I ignored it for ages but just couldn’t take it anymore.
Luckily I can use my Grandma’s old Singer so I won’t be completely without. But it doesn’t have a zipper foot and only has one bobbin, which I will have to keep rewinding. For someone who can, on my good days go through three or four bobbins, extras are a necessity.
So, until I get my usual machine back things should be interesting. It’s like driving a different car than you normally drive. Nothing is in the right spot.
Hope you’re having a Happy Weekend. I’ll be back tomorrow to share some freshly mades.

That fabric is so beautiful–what I would give for an afternoon fabric shopping with you!
gorgeous fabric, liesl. it’s ok to stray from the diet for special things like that (i think so, at least!). hope your sewing machine is fixed soon and i hope you’ll show the special project your making for yourself when you’ve finished.
