After my brother told me my pattern storing situation looked like something you’d find in a dorm, I was more than inspired to get to work right away on the new boxes.

I was about to buy interfacing to make the pattern boxes via the JCaroline Creative tutorial when I realized I still have the huge cardboard box the Billy bookcase came in. And I figured I could easily cut out the pieces, add a little packaging tape and some hot glue and sew a pretty slip cover. Kind of like I did for this and these. Not to mention, it’d be a lot studier than interfacing.

And that’s just what I did. To not waste fabric, I didn’t bother lining them, just tucked the fabric on the inside and glued in place. I didn’t see the point because all four are packed full of patterns you can’t see the inside anyway.
I’m so happy with how they turned out. Now to figure some baskets or boxes for storing fabric scraps…
So Much Better.

Great idea!! I will be making some of these soon enough. Thanks for the inspiration
I think you inspired me. If only I didn’t send out packing boxes in the recycling last week!
it looks wonderful!
The boxes look so great!
Storage + prettiness! Always the way to go! The baby quilt is a beautiful gift, too. Can’t wait to see the next one!
Those came out so cute! I definitely need to do this soon…my patterns are out of control.
it’s lurvely! And a nice compliment to your IKEA things. I have that chair too – in fact, i have TWO. I quite enjoy them :)
